Other Important Announcements

Congratulations to FIS students and faculty for being acknowledged by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement as a Silver School for greatest gains in student achievement based on CRCT scores.

Lost and Found . . . Our lost and found is overflowing with lost items!  Please check out the lost and found box located next to the ASP office in the back hall.  Parents, it is very helpful if you put your child's name on all personal belongings so we can return them if they are lost.  Any items not claimed before summer break will be donated to a local charity.

Box Tops for Education:  These are counted each month.  Please turn in Box Tops for Education to your classroom teacher for a chance to win a class PIZZA party or ICE CREAM party!  Remember to save Box Tops over the summer!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CAR RIDERS:  For the safety of our students, please drop off at the curb only at FIS and HAPS.  Please do not use the parking area between the two schools as a drop off or pickup area.  For the safety of your children, please do not drop them off at our school prior to 7:20 a.m.

All students arriving after 7:45 a.m. must have a tardy pass filled out in the front office.  This must be signed by the parent/guardian.  For the safety of your children, please do not drop off students prior to 7:20 a.m. as there is no supervision.  also the office cannot accept phone calls for changes of transportation.  All changes must be in writing.  There will be no changes after 2:00 p.m.  Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.

GALILEO stands for Georgia Library Learning Online and is a World Wide Web-based virtual library.  The resources are unlimited and FREE!   Please feel free to check this out at home.  Look for updated passwords at the bottom of our school homepage.

PARENTS:  The front office does not accept any transportation changes after 2:00.  All transportations changes must be sent in writing to the homeroom teacher or faxed to the front office (770-460-3419).  For the safety of our students, there will be NO exceptions.  Additionally, early pick-ups negatively affect your child's performance.  Please honor our instructional time.

A Note from Nurse Stephens:  ALL medications MUST be brought to the clinic by a parent and a consent and authorization form must be signed before medications of any kind can be administered.  This policy is designed with your child's welfare in mind and is meant to protect your child.  This includes cough drops, throat spray, etc.  Thank you for you cooperation in this matter.

ATTENTION PARENTS:  There is no need for any student to have a cell phone during the school day.  If your student needs a cell phone for any after school reason, it MUST be kept in the student's book bag and it MUST be turned OFF during school hours.
